Week 11. Last one, otherwise the rest are slam dunks LOL!! My name is Benjamin A. Gramm, a native of Portsmouth, Ohio USA born in 1872. In late in the 1890s I was attracted to the horseless carriage (automobile), and I had built my first one by 1900. As early as 1901, I had assembled a one-cylinder automobile. By 1902, my new product was a light buckboard-type with an underseat - mounted air-cooled engine and chain-drive to "solid" rear axle. The next year, 1903, I invented a light-duty vehicle equipped with a power takeoff on the transmission. Three years later, I produced the "Logan" the first two-cylinder truck in the nation. This was followed two years later (1906) by production of the first four-cylinder truck. This earned me the title of "Father of the Motor Truck Industry." In 1910 I began building the Gramm motor truck. Together with Max Bernstein we later formed the Gramm-Bernstein Company.

By the time America entered World War I in 1917, I was a recognized pioneer in the motor truck industry, and was called to Washington to develop and construct a dependable military transport truck for use overseas in the war. The truck was ceremoniously welcomed in Washington upon its arrival by President Woodrow Wilson. Soon thousands of these Gramm-Bernstein Liberty Trucks were manufactured and on there way to Europe. Known as The Liberty Truck, this famous truck "put the American Army on wheels" in World War I. Which CM am I related too??
